Here are some common hard drive sizes.

IDE

This list of IDE hard drive sizes is by no means complete. Hard drive sizes back from the 90 can be in a variety of different sizes that are even smaller (eg. 40MB). Drives that are marked as 'rarer' are drives I've seen but really rarely.

IDE (PATA) hard drive sizes that I've seen are:

  • 3.2 GB
  • 10.1 GB
  • 40 GB
  • 60 GB - rarer
  • 80 GB
  • 100 GB - rarer
  • 120 GB - rarer
  • 160 GB
  • 250 GB
  • 320 GB
  • 500 GB
  • 750 GB - rarer

SATA

HDD

Common SATA hard drive sizes are:

  • 80 GB
  • 160 GB
  • 250 GB
  • 320 GB
  • 500 GB
  • 750 GB - rarer
  • 1 TB
  • 2 TB
  • 3 TB
  • 4 TB

  • 146 GB
  • 300 GB
