PowerEdge Naming Scheme

Older Dell PowerEdge (prior to the 10th generation) are named with a 4 digit number. The numbers correspond to:

First Digit Height of the server
Second Digit Generation (0 through 9)
Third Digit Server Type (0 - tower, 5 - rack)
Fourth Digit Standalone (0) / Blade (5)

Later Dell PowerEdge (generation 10 and later) are named with a letter and a 3 digit number.

Letter R - rack-mountable, M - modular, T - tower
First Digit # of CPU Sockets (1-3: 1, 4-7: 2, 9: 4, 8: 2 or 4)
Second Digit Generation (starting from 0 as generation 10)
Third Digit CPU Type: 0 - Intel, 5 - AMD

The newer naming scheme does not include the height of the server.
