Wordpress Hacks
I noticed a site sending a massive amount of spam on one of my servers. After a little digging and a hunch that these exploits typically make use of base64_decode, I found this line of code appended to the end of a number of PHP scripts that are part of the wordpress install.

The get_option function fetches a value from the wordpress option table by the given key. That specific key contained:

Without diving into decoding that mess, I believe it executes arbitrary code passed in through the _POST variable. In my case, it was used for spamming clients.

Fix
The fix is relatively easy: Just delete the keys from the options table that contains the exploit payload.
To resolve the issue completely, all the bootstrap code embedded to various PHP files should be removed. This can be done by running:
